YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Russia is ready to facilitate a peaceful agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after talks with Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev on Thursday in Baku. According to Lavrov, both sides are ready for a dialogue.

"You’ve mentioned normalizing relations, a peace treaty, and provisions of the future treaty that you have handed over. By the way, we heard about the Armenian side’s readiness to negotiate on the subject. In this regard, we are also ready to provide assistance, if Azerbaijan and Armenia agree," the Russian minister said, according to Tass news agency.

Lavrov said also that Moscow was ready to consult and advise the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation and safety commissions.

"There have been concrete proposals on the subject, and I am ready to discuss them with you," Lavrov added.

The Russian top diplomat also noted the efforts of the trilateral working group co-chaired by deputy prime ministers of the three countries (Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia), charged with unblocking economic and transport connections in South Caucasus.

The day before, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow is ready to host the next meeting of the commissions in the very near future.

"As for regional issues, we are ready to contribute in every way to the implementation of the three documents signed by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021. The trilateral working group to unblock communications, according to our assessment, is making definite progress," Lavrov said.

‘We have a common understanding on how to solve the problem with the organization of road traffic in the most comfortable way so as not to create any artificial obstacles. Russia will assist in this work until the sides achieve results. I hope that this will happen soon, » Lavrov said. -0-
