'Dreadful' US job figures shred hopes of rate rises on both sides of the Atlantic

Last week Federal reserve chairman Janet Yellen said a rate rise likely this year. But figures have revealed that only 142,000 jobs were created in the past month, far fewer than the 203,000 predicted.
