UK manufacturing growth falls for second straight month as industry continues to reduce headcount and drag on the economy

Markit's UK manufacturing PMI slipped to 51.5 last month, down from 51.6 in August, although it was above forecasts for a dip to 51.3. September's PMI was only just above a two-year low hit in June.
