Celebration of Teachers’ Day to cost 9 million drams
YEREVAN, October 1. / ARKA /. The Armenian government will release 9 million drams for the celebration of Teacher’s Day. A corresponding decision was adopted today
Education and science minister Armen Ashotyan said the celebration will be held October 5 at various venues in the city with the assistance of the State Pedagogical University of Armenia.
The celebration will end with a major event at 19:00 at a square in front of Matenadaran depository of old manuscripts.
For many years the Teachers' Day was marked in Armenia on the first Saturday of October. In September 2010, the government amended the law on holidays and anniversaries," setting October 5 as the permanent day to mark Teacher's Day. It now coincides with the World Teachers' Day. -0-
