Federal Tories will fund $700m of Surrey’s $2.1b light rapid-transit project if re-elected
Surrey’s $2.1-billion light rapid-transit project has been identified as a key priority for the federal Tories, who promised Monday to provide the proposal with $700 million in funding if re-elected Oct. 19. The pledge, made in Surrey by outgoing MP James Moore and South Surrey-White Rock candidate Dianne Watts, marks the first time in this campaign that any of the three main federal parties have specifically targeted one of Metro Vancouver’s transit projects for funding.
