FIFA and Sepp Blatter: Where will it end?

Football’s world governing body has a chequered past. Zurich-based FIFA has seen more than its fair share of corruption allegations, subsequent investigations – both internal and external – and now extraditions and criminal investigations. In the latest developments, on September 29 Swiss authorities approved a US extradition request for ex-Costa Rican Football Federation President Eduardo Li, the fourth official due to be sent to the United States in connection with a FIFA corruption scandal. The same day Jack Warner, the former president of CONCACAF, the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football, was banned from all football-related activities for life. These moves came just a few days after the Swiss Attorney General's office opened criminal proceedings against outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
