Cops rescue 150 migrants in truck
Police in Mexico rescued 150 migrants from a truck where they had been held for 14 hours, officials said.
|||Mexico City - Police in northern Mexico rescued 150 migrants including 25 children from a truck where they had been held for 14 hours, Mexican authorities said on Monday.
The migrants, most of whom were Central American, were dehydrated, and some had almost lost consciousness.
Four alleged human traffickers were arrested.
The group was en route from the central Mexican city of Puebla to Monterrey, near the US border.
Human traffickers had allegedly charged the migrants up to 2 900 dollars each to help them cross Mexico, the statement said.
