Durban - A 67-year-old woman is lucky to be alive after she was hijacked and shot in Sea Cow Lake, Durban, on Saturday evening, paramedics said.

“She was treated and stabilised on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital by Crisis Medical paramedics for further care,” Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said in a statement.

SA Police Service officers were on scene and an investigation into the incident was underway, he said.

No further details were available.
