ARMNOC's 25th anniversary events and guests

This year, the Armenian National Olympic Committee is celebrating its 25th anniversary. In this regard, the ARMNOC is planning to organize a number of events. General Secretary of the committee Hrachya Rostomyan talked about them today.


Events dedicated to the 25th anniversary

The events schedule is going to be very saturated and will be celebrated on a large scale. On September 29, CIS, Baltic Countries and Georgia Olympic Committee Regional Forum will be held. On the same day, Olympavan will be opened followed by the stamp cancellation ceremony.

Afterwards, the events will be held at the Opera and Ballet National Academic Theater. Demonstrations of about 8 sports will be carried out near the Opera followed by the concert and movie screening.

The guests will also be toured in Geghard and Echmiadzin.

We will host about 70 guests, among which: President of EOC Patrick Hickey, President of National Olympic Committee Association Sheikh Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and presidents of national committees of 25 countries. They will start arriving on September 25.

IOC President Thomas Bach was also supposed to come but he will take part in the UN General Assembly session in New York at that time.

Topics of the forum

The Regional Forum will mostly focus on issues related to the Olympic Games 2016. Brazilian Ambassador will present the construction works in the country.

Head of our delegation in the Olympic Games Derenik Gabrielyan visited Rio last month and we are aware what's going on there, but the organizers do something new every day and the Ambassador will tell about it.

IOC members will present the works they carry out. On behalf of ARMNOC, Head of Armenia's Anti-Doping Organization Areg Hovhannisyan. He will present our works and the success of past years.
