'To me that is abduction': Kelowna single dad says home-alone court case led to social workers taking his kids

A Kelowna single dad says a B.C. Supreme Court case that seems to establish that kids under 10 can’t be left home alone was misinterpreted by social workers who authorized that his two daughters be “abducted” from his apartment while he was at work. The nightmare for Martin Solotki happened the night of Sept. 17. Several nights a week he leaves his daughters home alone while he works a night shift. His elder daughter, who has taken babysitting training, is months shy of 12. His youngest girl is almost eight.
