|||Cape Town - The State’s appeal against former paralympian Oscar Pistorius’s culpable homicide conviction will be heard by the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein on November 3.
In a statement sent out by the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Paul Myburgh, media houses were warned they will not be allowed to cover the trial “without prior approval”.
The Registrar plans to meet with all media houses to discuss a “poolfeed” of the proceedings.
The panel of judges was also announced - they are P Mpati, JA Mhlantla, JA Leach, JA Majiedt and AJA Baartman.
In September 2014, Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide for shooting dead his model and law graduate girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
On Valentine’s Day 2013, he fired four shots through a locked bathroom door at his home, killing Steenkamp.
The State wants him convicted of the more serious charge of murder, which carries a much heavier sentence. Pistorius is currently serving a five year sentence in Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre in Pretoria.
