ANCYL’s Wisani granted bail
Patrick Wisani, the ANCYL leader who allegedly beat his girlfriend to death with a sjambok, has been granted bail.
|||Johannesburg - Patrick Wisani, the ANCYL leader charged with murdering his girlfriend, has been granted bail.
Wisani, 30, allegedly beat Nosipho Mandleleni, 24, to death with a sjambok and broomstick two weeks ago.
Magistrate Pieter du Plessis granted Wisani R3 000 bail, with strict bail conditions.
“You may not enter Yeoville at all during the duration of the trial to preclude you from interfering with the investigation ,“ Du Plessis said.
He acknowledged that Wisani had closer connections with the police in that area.
He also ordered Wisani to report to the Khusong Police Station every Monday and Thursday.
Wisani is the chairman of the ANCYL's Joburg Inner City branch.
He is also a former member of the Yeoville Community Policing Forum.
The case was postponed until October 30 for further investigation.
