Burn victim Jayden joins sister in death

Jayden de Costa, aged 1, who suffered severe burns in a fire in Lephalale, Limpopo, two weeks ago, lost his life in a Pretoria hospital on Sunday.

Jayden suffered the burns with his sister after their home caught fire.

According to the Hero Burn Foundation, the boy was flown to Meulmed hospital in Pretoria on Wednesday as his condition worsened.

Money was raised immediately after the tragedy for Jayden and his sister Kaitlint, 8, who was also caught in the fire, suffering burns on up to 90 percent of her body. Kaitlint died a week ago.

Hero Burn Foundation’s Annerie du Plooy said their mother, Sibreena de Costa, was not taking the tragedy well.
