Defense minister not in fear for development of Armenia’s army in 2016
YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. There are not grounds now for fearing for development of Armenia’s armed forces, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told journalists on Friday.
“The budget for 2016 is being discussed now,” he said. “The Armenian president and the government are presenting the priority directions on which the defense ministry’s capacity should be increased.”
One of the most important objectives of the army authorities is to strengthen combat capability.
“We purchase new defense means every year for ensuring fulfillment of the objectives,” Ohanyan said. “All the financial means allocated to the defense ministry for 2015 are being used properly and for the targeted purposes and all the plans will be put into reality.”
The Armenia government has already completed discussions over the draft budget for 2016. The government will take into account all the proposals received from some agencies, and the final version of the draft budget will be sent to the National Assembly for approval. --0----
