Johannesburg - The notorious Joburg metro cop who roasted a motorist after he gave her lip when she fined him for a traffic infringement has been given a make-over.

Earlier this month, a video of the colourful encounter between Joburg metro police officer Laurentia Shitlhelana and motorist Clive Naidoo went viral, with commentators taking both sides on social media.

The video shows Shitlhelana pulling Naidoo over on the corner of Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue in Randburg and giving him a ticket for not stopping at a red traffic light.

After the video was released, many people praised Shitlhelana for her wit and the humorous manner in which she handled the situation.

Her supporters included online beauty store House of Bontle, whose staff felt Shitlhelana deserved a full make-over for her “sassiness”.

The radiant officer was photographed after the make-over wearing a bubblegum-pink full-length dress and silver stilettos.

Her hair was gently pushed back and she was wearing light make-up.

Shitlhelana confidently owned the outfit and gave the camera her best pout during an outdoor photo shoot.

House of Bontle said they had offered Shitlhelana the make-over because they thought the officer was a “fabulous woman” who was “very entertaining and she loved the camera”.

After Shitlhelana pulled Naidoo over, there was a heated argument between the pair, and insults flew, when Naidoo insisted he was not guilty of the traffic violation and asked the officer to “prove it”.

While he was filming Shitlhelana writing the ticket with his iPhone, Naidoo went on to insinuate that the officer “worked for him” because he paid taxes.

The metro cop reacted angrily and began hurling insults at the motorist, including deriding Bloubosrand, the area where he stays.

“You pay people R20 000 but you live in Bloubosrand?

“If I were you, I won’t mention I’m staying in Bloubosrand.

“That’s embarrassing,” she says.
