73-year-old B.C. man who admitted to sex offences against daughters, foster kids is sentenced
In an unusual move, a judge has given a more severe sentence than that called for by the Crown in the case of an elderly B.C. man who pleaded guilty to sex offences against five young girls who were his kids by birth, adoption or foster parenting. A prosecutor had argued for a two-year sentence followed by three years of probation for the 73-year-old accused, who can be identified only by the initials C.A.S. due to a publication ban, and the defence called for a conditional sentence followed by probation.
