Simon Kinberg Says They're Still Planning 'Fantastic Four 2,' Star Kate Mara Says She Still Hasn't Seen The First One

The "Fantastic Four" drama just won’t come to a close. Despite only pulling in a little more than $55 million domestically, less than the mid-00s movies took in their first three days, details of studio interference, and rumors of director Josh Trank’s “erratic” behavior—writer/producer Simon Kinberg claims hope for a sequel has not flatlined. Before the release of the new movie, a sequel had already been dated for the summer of 2017, which must’ve been problematic for Fox executives when the new film tanked so hard. 

In a recent interview with MTV News, Kinberg said he is “really focused on the next one,” and also expressed his concerns about the media coverage focusing on the behind-the-scenes commotion. Kinberg went on to say, “Every time you make a movie, you want to make a great movie. It’s a ton of time and effort you put in.
