Newborn found in pit toilet

The body of a newborn baby boy was found in a pit toilet in the Hlanzeni settlement on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.

Durban – The body of a newborn baby was found in a pit toilet in the Hlanzeni settlement near Umkomaas on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast on Thursday.

ER24 spokesman Russell Meiring said that paramedics were call by police to retrieve the baby boy from the toilet.

Paramedics retrieved the baby, but there was little that they could do him and he was declared dead.

Police are investigating.
