Durban - Businessman Marco Accolla has been granted R5 000 bail in yet another legal battle involving his former business and romantic partner, Rosanne Narandas.

Accolla, 35, appeared briefly in the Durban Commercial Crime Court this week just hours after he reported to the investigating officer in connection with an allegation of common law perjury.

The case was investigated by the Commercial Crime Unit. It related to the voluntary liquidation of Noella Rosario CC, which holds the leases for fashion boutique stores Ooh La La.

The CC was subject to a legal battle in the Durban High Court.

In 2010, Narandas had been removed from membership in the close corporation by mutual consent, leaving Accolla as the sole member.

In documents filed in the Durban High Court last year, Narandas claimed this was a strategic move as she was wrestling with Old Mutual Properties over disputed lease agreements. Accolla had disputed this, saying Narandas had handed over ownership as a “show of affection”.

Prosecutor Velekhaya Mgobhozi did not object to bail as Accolla had handed himself over and co-operated fully with police. The court heard that he had no pending criminal cases or warrants of arrest. He is due back in court next month.
