Foods in Armenia up 0.3% in August 2015

YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia went 0.3% up in August 2015, compared with the previous month, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports. 
The increase was mostly due to 0.3-11.8 percent price hikes in meat products soft drinks, vegetables and potatoes.
According to the statistical report, potato and vegetable prices leapt 11.8% in August 2015, compared with July 2015, and climbed 15.2% , compared with August 2014.  

This group of foods makes up 5.61% of subsistence, and this impacted the total increase in food prices by 0.7%.

Meat products rose 0.3% over one month and 2.3% over one year.   

Prices in three groups – 'other foods', 'alcoholic drinks and cigarettes' and 'soft drinks' rose 0.1, 0.1 and 2.9% respectively in August 2015, compared with August 2014.  

An average price for eggs shed 5.5% over one month and 7.5% over one year. 

Fruits in August 2015 became 5.1% cheaper than one month before and 7.5% cheaper than one year before.  

Sugar price slid 2.3% in August 2015, compared with July 2015, and 1.3%, compared with August 2014. 

Dairy products slipped 1% in August 2015, compared with the previous month, and 2.5%, compared with the same month a year earlier.  

Vegetable fats and adipose slipped 0.4%, coffee, tea and cocoa 0.4% and confectionery 0.2%, while bread and fish products remained unchanged. 

Consumer prices in Armneia rose 0.1% in August 2015, comaperd with July 2015, and 3.6%, compared with August 2014.

In the government budget for 2015, inflation was projected at 4% (±1.5%) and GDP growth at 4.1%. ---0----
