Armenia to put up its own candidate for the post of chairman of Eurasian economic commission

YEREVAN, September 8. / ARKA /. Armenia will put up its own candidate for the position of chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Interfax reported, citing Armenian prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

"In accordance with the provisions of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty the Armenian side will put up its own candidate for the post of chairman of the EEC board,’ Abrahamyan said at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union in Grodno, Belarus.

Armenia’s prime minister also stressed the importance of cooperation with the European Union, saying that the Armenian side is ready to assist the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in establishing appropriate dialogue with the European Union and is ready ALSO to take responsibility for some negotiation issues.

The heads of governments of EEU member states were supposed to discuss today a string of issues on coordinating THEIR industrial policies, ensuring macroeconomic and financial stability, formation of a single market of services, development of relations with foreign countries and international organizations.

They were also expected to sign an agreement on the coordination of action to protect the rights of intellectual property and another agreement on the implementation of a pilot project in 2015-2016 for the introduction of  identification of goods by labeling signs, -- 0—
