Klerksdorp drug dealer arrested

A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs, North West police said.

Potchefstroom – A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs, North West police said on Sunday.

“In a bid to rid Klerksdorp and the vicinity of drugs, the police have nabbed a 32-year-old Nigerian national for (allegedly) dealing in drugs on Friday… in Dawkinsville, Klerksdorp,” SA Police Service spokesman Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said in a statement .

The man was arrested after intelligence-led information was received that he was suspected of dealing in drugs, he said.

A follow-up was made and raw cocaine and “particles (of) rock drugs” with an estimated street value of R72 000 were allegedly found inside the garage at the suspect’s home.

Some R21 000 in cash was also seized. The man was expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of dealing in drugs, Mokgwabone said.
