New Telus World of Science IMAX projector promises best images yet

Hearing the Telus World of Science announce Wednesday its IMAX Theatre will get a new, state-of-the-art projection system might trigger a feeling of deja vu.

It was just two years ago that the science centre unveiled a $4-million theatre renovation that brought in Alberta's biggest movie screen, better seats, a new audio system and two latest-generation digital 3D IMAX projectors to replace the aging IMAX film projector.

The centre is now closing the theatre down again, from Sept. 8 to 30, to install a new state-of-the-art dual 4K laser projection system, along with another new IMAX screen and another new audio system.
