Woman issues warning after thieves ring up thousands on her credit cards

Scotiabank has backed down from insisting a customer whose credit cards were stolen and used to ring up $15,000 in mostly cash advances pay for $4,000 of the losses. The bank said in a email to The Province it was offering Lyndsay Passmore a “$4,000 settlement ... to refund her for the transactions that took place while cancelling access to her accounts.”
