Watch: New Clip From 'Poltergeist' Remake Highlights A Famous Scene Plus New TV Spot And Featurette
"They're here." Again. This summer the horror classic "Poltergeist" gets an unnecessary remake, and the movie from director Gil Kenan, produced by Sam Raimi, will offer various twists on the original film, but the basic structure seems to be the same, starting with what is probably its most iconic scene.
Collider has the first clip from the movie, in which the young girl, now named Madison Bowen, makes contact through the family's fancy pants flat screen TV with some supernatural creatures. And if you're wondering why this needs to be done at all, as Raimi explains in a new featurette, the goal was to make the 1982 movie "accessible" to modern audiences. It would seem that Hollywood thinks that movies that are thirty years old are beyond our realm of understanding and enjoyment.
"Poltergeist" scares on May 22nd. Watch below.
