Tata Hexa XM+ launched at Rs 15.27 lakh

Tata Motors has launched a new variant of the Hexa to plug the gap between the top-spec XT and mid-spec XM variant of the SUV. The new variant, called XM+, has been priced at Rs 15.27 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Tata Motors has launched it right around the time the festive season is kicking off in India.

Previously, the only other manual transmission variant available after that was the XT, priced at Rs 16.64 lakh. The XM+ variant is priced at Rs 15.27 lakh and sits at an almost equidistant spot in the price range, between the XM and XT variant. The XM+ variant is however only available with a manual transmission. Moreover, the 4×4 option on the Hexa is still limited to the top-spec XT variant. The Tata Hexa is powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine which makes 156PS and 400Nm. The Hexa is Tata’s flagship product in the passenger vehicles department as of now. That, however, could change soon, as the company is looking to launch the Harrier SUV next year. Rivalling the Jeep Compass, the Tata Harrier would be priced around Rs 15 lakh and could take the crown of Tata Motors’ flagship product from the Hexa when it arrives early next year.
