Man surprises policewoman who stopped him from killing himself
A story of a man's sweet gesture thanking the woman that saved his life is melting a lot of hearts.
On Saturday, the unnamed man from Warrington (UK), was going through a very difficult time and was even contemplating ending his own life, the Daily Mail reported.
Police immediately rushed to the scene were notified that he was sitting on a bridge. PC Becky Millyard, is one of the officer present. She sprung into action and started talking to the man.
"There were members of the public there. I ushered them away and started speaking with him. He was really upset and it took a lot to get him talking," she is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
Adding," After about 15 minutes I managed to persuade him that all the bad things that he was talking about to me were not unfixable and I got him down from the bridge and into the back of the car."
Her efforts did not go unnoticed. The man she helped save surprised her the next day by brining flowers to the police station.
Warrington Police tweeted a picture of her and the lovely bunch of flowers: Last night, PC Millyard assisted in talking a suicidal male down from a bridge. Today, he came to the station with some flowers to say 'thank you' for her efforts. pic.twitter.com/82cU0Lztv8

"This is what policing is about. Making a difference, taking time for those in crisis and ultimately saving a life. So nice that the man helped took the time to say thank you. Well done to the officer, a credit to the job," Becky's fellow officer John Apter is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. end-of
