Amal Alamuddin Schools a Reporter Who Asked Her a Fashion Question in the Courtroom: See Her Hilarious Response

Don't get it twisted! 

Amal Alamuddin had to remind a reporter that despite being married to the handsome George Clooney and a rising fashion icon, she is still a serious lawyer. On Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Strasbourg, France, the human rights lawyer, 36, represented Armenia at an appeal hearing against Dogu Perincek, chairman of the Turkish Workers' Party, who was found guilty of racial discrimination by the European Court of Human Rights.

Obviously she wasn't going to wear a red carpet gown to the courtroom, but that didn't stop Bruno Waterfield, a reporter for The Telegraph, from using his meeting with Alamuddin to quiz her on her outfit choice.

Waterfield sarcastically live-tweeted about Alamuddin’s style during the hearing: “What’s Amal Clooney wearing? A barrister’s court dress of course. She’a a somebody not a mere actor’s wife today.”  

Waterfield and other reporters fired off questions to Alamuddin after the hearing. "I think they expected you turn up in Versace," he wrote in his report about her red Versace coat she wore leaving from LAX Airport days earlier on Sunday, Jan. 25.

"I'm wearing Ede & Ravenscroft," Alamuddin brilliantly replied. The fashion brand Ede & Ravenscroft is London's oldest maker of ceremonial and judiciary robes.
