Available options include a driver's assistance package that features emergency braking, blind-spot warning; rear collision intervention with cross traffic alert; predictive forward collision warning; and Nissan's Around View Monitor with moving object detection.

The Q50 sport can also be equipped with Infiniti's second-generation Direct Adaptive Steering, which has been retuned to improve feedback from the road and produce a steering feel more like a conventional steering system.

Infiniti wasn't ready to talk MSRPs on the Red Sport 400 or its 300-horsepower sibling, the Q50 Sport, but it's a safe guess that the Q50's new halo model will start in the $57,000 range.

The Q50 2.0t starts at $33,950 and includes standard features like eight-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, Infiniti InTouch and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

Fuel economy for the rear-wheel-drive Q50 2.0t is listed at 23 mpg city, 31 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined.

Standard equipment includes 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, blind spot warning, collision intervention, predictive forward collision warning and Around View Monitor with moving object detection.
