AMD 324mln transferred to public under settlement agreement

ArmInfo. Another settlement agreement was signed in the case of confiscation of property of illicit origin: property worth approximately 324 million drams was transferred to the Republic of Armenia.

According to the press service of the supervisory authority, a  settlement agreement in the case of confiscation of property of  illicit origin was signed for the transfer of property with an  average market value of 323 million 800 thousand drams to the  ownership of the Republic of Armenia, which was approved by a court  decision on March 5, 2026.

On August 29, 2023, the Prosecutor General's Office filed a claim for  confiscation of property of illicit origin in the Anti-Corruption  Court against Manuk Hakobyan, assistant to the former head of the  Abovyan community of Kotayk Province, Karapet Guloyan, and his wife.  Previously, the criminal case investigated by the Anti-Corruption  Committee against former head of the Abovyan community, Karapet  Guloyan, with an indictment approved by the prosecutor, was  transferred to court on November 6, 2025. By a court decision dated  August 30, 2023, the claim was accepted for consideration.

As part of this case, on February 27, 2026, a settlement agreement  was signed with the defendants, Manuk Hakobyan and his wife, at the  Department for Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property of the  Prosecutor General's Office. According to the agreement, the  defendant agreed to transfer the real estate included in the claim,  with an average market value of 323 million 800 thousand drams,  covering an area of approximately 20.6 hectares in the village of  Kanakeravan, Nor Khachn community, Kotayk Province, to the ownership  of the Republic of Armenia.

On the same day, an application for approval of the concluded  settlement agreement was filed with the Anti-Corruption Court. On  March 4, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court decided to separate part of  the case and hear it in a separate proceeding. On March 5, 2026, the  Anti-Corruption Court issued a decision confirming the settlement  agreement signed on February 27, 2026.

The civil case continues with respect to the claim for confiscation  of other property included in the lawsuit.
