NFA's quartet of gymnasts have standout day at Class L championship meet

The Norwich Free Academy gymnastics team traveled to Milford on Saturday for the Cass L state championships. Instead of a school bus, the Wildcats could have made the trek in a Volkswagen Beetle. Seniors Trinity Ambruso and Allison Wojnar, junior Gabriella Rorke, and sophomore Payton Contino were trying to win NFA’s first state title since 2002. They didn’t bring home the gold medal but the talented quartet certainly stood apart from their competitors with a third=place finish at Jonathan Law High School. “I often think people see us and they doubt us because we’re only four, but we stand our ground,” Ambruso said.
