EU Ambassador congratulates Armenian citizens on International Mother  Language Day

ArmInfo. The Head of the European Union Office in Armenia, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, sent a video message in Armenian on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

Speaking in front of the Matenadaran Museum and Institute of Ancient  Manuscripts, the Ambassador recalled that today the world celebrates  International Mother Language Day. "It was established by UNESCO and  is celebrated on February 21, 2000. International Mother Language Day  has also been celebrated in Armenia since 2005. Armenian is one of  the oldest languages in the world. I am pleased to congratulate  everyone on this wonderful holiday," Maragos said, reading excerpts  from Amo Saghyan's poem "Spring Comes in Armenian."
