Former CEO: The issue with Electric Networks of Armenia is political
ArmInfo. The issue with Electric Networks of Armenia is clearly political in nature, as stated by David Ghazinyan, a Board member of the "Strong Armenia" party and former ENA CEO, speaking to reporters on February 17.
According to him, it is clear that the company's owners are being subjected to political persecution at the whim of one person. Ghazinyan noted that new facts indicate that ENA was taken over by force, and the process itself was politicized. "Many members of a small group of people, skipping the line, posted videos regarding loans secured by the company and the interest rates on them. We have repeatedly appealed to Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, demanding the truth. After our numerous demands, he finally admitted that the interest payments on the loans were paid by Samvel Karapetyan, the owner of the company and President of the Tashir Group of Companies. In other words, the loans had nothing to do with the tariff," Ghazinyan said.
He added that if the current government remains in power, electricity tariffs will go up after the parliamentary elections this year. The former CEO emphasized that the authorities did everything possible to prevent tariff hikes before the elections, stating that 13 billion drams were allocated for that purpose, with the source of that funding still unknown
