DETROIT – The Michigan State Spartans completed a rivalry hat trick Saturday, taking home their third straight Iron D trophy after toppling No.1-ranked Michigan in the annual “Duel in the D.” The Spartans built up to a 4-0 lead during Saturday’s rivalry showdown at Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, holding on to beat the Wolverines 5-2. Michigan State will move into the No. 1 spot after taking four of six points during the two-game series to pull one point ahead of Michigan, which won Friday’s opener 4-3 in overtime at Yost Ice Arena.
