Preparations for first Armenia-EU summit discussed in Armenia

ArmInfo.  On February 3, Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, discussed the agenda of Armenian-European relations with the EU delegation.

According to the government press service, during the meeting with the EU delegation, led by Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs and Director of Political Affairs at the European External Action Service, the progress achieved in Armenian-European relations was discussed. The interlocutors also discussed the agenda of the recently launched strategic dialogue on political and security issues, as well as opportunities for further deepening bilateral cooperation.

The parties positively assessed the dynamics established in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to developing cooperation based on shared values and strategic interests.

Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the steps taken to strengthen institutional resilience and emphasized the importance of continued support from the EU. The parties also exchanged views on the preparatory work for the 8th European Political Community Summit and the first Armenia-EU Summit, scheduled for May 3- 4, 2026, in Yerevan. It was noted that these high-level events reflect the growing mutual trust and strategic partnership between Armenia and the European Union.
