Race for titles, playoff berths in basketball coming down to wire

With a week of league action left in high school basketball, races to lock up league titles as well as playoff spots are heating up.In order to qualify for the playoffs, a team must finish within the top half of its league, while leagues that contain an odd number of teams qualify the top half of the league, plus one more. Leagues with four teams are given two automatic qualifiers; five teams are given three; six teams are given three; seven teams are given four; eight teams are given four; and nine teams are given five.
