Birk Irving named to Olympic freeski team for second time

Benvenuti in Italia! Welcome to Italy, Birk Irving. The Winter Park local has been named to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team’s 2026 Olympic roster. The announcement made on Thursday morning will carry Birk, 26, alongside his younger sister, Svea, 23, to Milano Cortina from Feb. 6-22 to compete in the halfpipe ski competitions against athletes from around the globe. Irving competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics in the men’s halfpipe where he finished fifth overall.
