GP South survives Roseville without starting QB to set up rematch in MHSAA playoffs
The nerves dissipated as quickly as they formed on the Grosse Pointe South sidelines. Roseville mounted a furious second-half comeback Saturday afternoon in the first round of Michigan high school football playoffs, erasing a 21-point deficit with three long touchdown passes to standout receiver Milton Standifer. But the final extra point went wide left, giving GPS a 28-27 win in the district semifinals at Grosse Pointe South High School. With 3 minutes left, the Blue Devils' offense, led by backup quarterback Andrew Wilson, picked up one first down, but could not get another. GPS punted, giving the Panthers the ball at their own 17 with 50 seconds remaining....
