Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 after an unexpected incident during a polo match in England. The 53-year-old heart attack during a polo match in the UK and his death news left everyone shocked. As per reports, he was stung by a bee inside his mouth which led to a fatal heart attack, per The Mirror.

Sunjay was a well-known figure in elite social circles and also appeared at polo events with Prince William and other royals. His passion for polo created his strong bond with Prince William and was friends with him. Sunjay was quite popular in the UK's polo circles and was even regular on the royal polo circuit. Moreover, he was friendly with other members of the aristocratic polo set and was often seen playing exclusive matches held across the UK during summer. He was educated in the UK and maintained strong social connect in London's elite circles.

Sunjay was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a major global player in the auto industry. Hours before his sudden death, Sunjay shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter) as he expressed his grief for the victims of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He wrote, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour."

On the personal front, Sunjay was married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016. The two are parents to a daughter Samaira and a son Kiaan. In 2014, they filed for divorce and they got divorced in 2016. In 2017, Sunjay was married to actress Priya Sachdev and they have a son, named Azarias.
