THIS Bollywood actor is a self-made star who rejected Karan Johar's blockbuster film on his father's advice. The handsome hunk made his Bollywood debut with Ranveer Singh and later, his film won hearts. Can you guess who it is?

We are talking about none other than Siddhanth Chaturvedi who was born on April 29, 1993, in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. He moved to Mumbai with his family when he was just 5 and loved participating in college plays. He did win a fresh face popular contest and decided to quit his CA final exams to pursue his passion for acting. Within no time, he started giving auditions and got Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji's directorial Brahmastra. But, his father's advice made him reject the fantasy action film and he also rejected the three-film contract with Johar's Dharma Productions.

During a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Siddhanth spoke about what his father told him and why he refused to do Karan's film. The actor said, "They were still writing the script, and I was excited. I could have done it as well, but my father wouldn't have let me. 'You are better than this,' he says, even till today he pushes me. I was elated that I will be getting a three-film contract with Dharma. I met Ayan, who showed me his vision of Brahmastra. I had only done a handful of ads by then, so I was a nobody. I told my father the film has Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan and he asked me, 'Toh tujhe kaun dekhega (so, who will notice you)?' He said, 'Nahi beta, I don't think you should do it. Do you have the script, have you auditioned for it? If you don't even know what you are going to do in that film, don't sell your destiny."

He then made his debut in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. His performance amazed the masses and critics. He won several awards for his debut performance in 2019 and the film earned Rs 235 crore worldwide. He was even seen in romantic drama Gehraiyaan alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. He again shared the screen with Ananya in Kho Gaye Hum Kahn on Netflix.

On the work front, Siddhant is in talks to collaborate with Rajneeti director Prakash Jha for his next political love story. If reports are to be believed then, Siddhant will play the lead in the upcoming biopic of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
