Kal Ho Naa Ho Re-release Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan’s film leaves behind new releases
The year 2024 will be remembered for the re-releases of classic Hindi movies. It has not been a successful year for many Bollywood films, as many struggled to earn even decent numbers at the box office. Not just numbers; even the audience has shown their disappointment in several new releases this year. However, what pulled the audiences back to the theatres were re-releases. Movies like Rockstar, Laila Majnu, Veer-Zaara, Jab We Met, and others managed to do the magic that new films failed to do so. Another movie that has audiences flocking to the theatres is Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Kal Ho Naa Ho Re-release box office collection
On its 20th anniversary, Kal Ho Naa Ho released in theatres again on November 15, 2024. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. The movie was a big hit even back in 2004 when it was released. It is one of SRK's most loved movies, despite the tragic ending. So it's natural that fans will not miss watching it on the big screen again.
Kal Ho Naa Ho has been doing quite well since its re-release. In its opening weekend, SRK, Saif, and Preity's film earned Rs 77 lakh at the box office. Later, it earned Rs 1.25 crore on weekdays, performing better than most new releases of 2024. Now, in its second weekend, the movie crossed the Rs 1 crore mark, thus bringing the total box office collection to Rs 3.15 crore net in India so far.
It has been 10 days and the romantic comedy is unstoppable at the box office. This Friday was a big task considering we saw Karan Arjun's re-release along with Abhishek Bachchan's I Want to Talk and Ajay Devgn's Naam releasing in theatres. But it looks like fans are more drawn towards Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Further in this entertainment news, KHNH isn't the only SRK movie that re-released this year. We also saw movies like Karan Arjun, Baazigar, and Veer-Zaara making their way back to theatres in the past. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta's Veer-Zaara earned more than Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office upon its re-release.
