64.6% of respondents in Armenia doubt that Yerevan and Baku will sign peace treaty by year-end - GALLUP

YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. The results of a public opinion survey conducted by the Armenian office of GALLUP International Association indicate that 64.6% of residents in Armenia do not believe a peace treaty with Azerbaijan can be signed by the end of 2024.nbsp;/pp

The results of the survey were unveiled on Tuesday by Aram Navasardyan, the head of the Armenian office of GALLUP International Association.nbsp;/pp

In particular, 41.2% of respondents stated that they “definitely do not believe it,” while 23.4% said they “rather do not believe it.”/pp

Meanwhile, 17.5% of respondents indicated that they rather believe the peace treaty will be signed, while 8.4% said it will definitely be signed. Additionally, 9.6% of respondents found it difficult to answer this question./pp

The day before, the Speaker of Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, stated that Armenia will persistently continue to work towards concluding a peace treaty with Azerbaijan./pp

Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that Baku did not respond enthusiastically to Yerevan's proposal to sign the agreed-upon points of the peace treaty.nbsp;/pp

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan suggested that Azerbaijan sign the agreed points of the peace agreement (13 out of 16 points - ed.) before the November COP29 climate summit. However, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called this proposal unacceptable./pp
