Online taxi turnover in Armenia reaches billions of drams - SRC head

YEREVAN, 10 October. /ARKA/. The turnover of online taxis in Armenia already amounts to billions of drams, head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Rustam Badasyan said on Thursday./pp/pp
He did not name specific figures, but noted the growing number of users of electronic platforms and private taxi drivers registered with the tax authority./pp/pp
For example, about 30 private taxi drivers have already been registered in the last 10 days. We will regularly update the information we have and inform the public about it,’ Badasyan said,/pp/pp
At the same time, he admitted that not all private taxi drivers have registered./pp 'We are not going to resort to harsh administration. From 1 September, according to the new rules, only those companies, individual entrepreneurs or individuals who have connected to the SRC system and provide electronic cash receipts can carry out passenger transportation by taxi./pp/pp
According to the changes in the legislation, in case of cash payment, the state duty from 1 September 2024 is 2% of the total cost of each trip, from 1 January 2025 it will be 3.5%, from 1 January 2026 - 5%./pp
For non-cash payment, the rate is set at 1.5% of the cost of the trip from 1 September 2024, 2.5% from 1 January 2025 and 4% from 1 January 2026./pp/pp
Taxis must also have a licence to carry passengers. Those taxi drivers who do not have the relevant licence and do not pay the amount of the state duty will be fined 500 thousand drams./pp
In case of transporting passengers without an electronic receipt taxi drivers will have to pay 200 thousand drams for each case. ($1 - 387.06 drams). -0-/p
