In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Sanjay Leela Bhansali spoke about the time when Inshallah, his dream project with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt got shelved. He revealed that Alia locked herself in the room and cried. She 'cracked up, raved, ranted' is what he said. Then it was after a week that he called her up saying that he wants her to be Gangubai Kathiawadi. Her reaction was, "From Los Angeles, where I was supposed to be playing the character (in Inshallah), I have come to Kamathipura. How do I do it? I don't know this character'." Sanjay Leela Bhansali then assured her saying that she can see a strong woman in her eyes and that he will be able to get her to do Gangubai Kathiawadi well. Sanjay Leela Bhansali also spoke about how Alia Bhatt started enjoying the process. He praised the actress stating that she just flew into the role. When Inshallah got shelved, it was big in entertainment news as there were many rumours about Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan having disagreements and more.
