YEREVAN, October 7 /ARKA/. In Armenia, 17,213 people died in January-August 2024, which is 4.9% more than in the same period in 2023. This is evidenced by data published by Armenian National Statistical Committee.br/pp
More than half of people (53.5% or 9,208 people) died due to diseases of the circulatory system, this figure is 5.6% more than for the same period in 2023./pp
The second most common cause of death is neoplasms (20.3% or 3,489 people, an increase of 1.5%)./pp
Other causes of death also included respiratory diseases (9.3% or 1,605 people, an increase of 10.6%), diseases of the digestive system (5.2% or 902 people, an increase of 15.9%), external causes of morbidity and mortality (4.1% or 709 people, an increase of 0.1%), diseases of the endocrine system (1.8% or 314 people, an increase of 5.7%), and infectious diseases (0.9% or 155 people, an increase of 66.7%). -0-/p
