YEREVAN, October 1/ARKA/. Armenian National Assembly has approved today a set of amendments to the law “On the military-industrial complex” in the first reading.br/pp

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said these amendments propose to grant new functions to the Military-Industrial Committee, which are expected to contribute to the development of the country's military industry./pp

In particular, a legislative and legal framework is being created for the Committee to develop the appropriate procedure for regulating the formulations of research, development and experimental design work, their preparation and implementation, accountability and financing. The budget for this is about 4.2 billion drams, Hayrapetyan noted.nbsp;/pp

According to him, this work is based on innovations and the stimulation of the latest technologies in the organization of the military industry./pp

The Minister stated that this work is currently being carried out, however, a number of legal relations between the state and the private sector are not regulated.nbsp;/pp

The budget for the production of samples is 1.5 billion drams, but there is no related mechanism. We hope to receive the appropriate tools after the final approval of legislative amendments to develop these mechanisms. There are artificial bureaucratic obstacles that affect this process, which are being eliminated. I would also like to note that in emergency situations, the relevant government agencies will be given the opportunity to purchase raw materials, products, components and materials for military purposes, which will be transferred to specialized companies, said Hayrapetyan.nbsp;/pp

The Minister also reported that over the past few years, the state order from the Ministry of Defense to domestic defense industry manufacturers has increased 100-fold, reaching 171 billion drams. -0-/pp nbsp;/pp nbsp;/pp nbsp;/pp nbsp;/p
