ArmInfo. The decision on the possibility of a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during BRICS or CIS events in the Russian Federation remains with them.

Russian  Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this at a press conference  following his participation in the high-level week of the 79th  session of the UN General Assembly, to clarify whether any meeting is  planned between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan for new peace  initiatives or negotiations with Russian participation, given that  Pashinyan and Aliyev will participate in the BRICS and CIS summits in  October 2024. "As they say, it's up to them. If they want to meet, as  the ministers met here (in the US) with the participation of US  Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

The Americans really want to be dominant here, just like in the  Middle East. It is important for them to show that they are the  masters. If this suits our Azerbaijani and Armenian friends, then  this is the choice of the relevant leaders," the Russian minister  noted. At the same time, he emphasized that Moscow is always ready to  fulfill what was agreed upon starting in November 2020. "Over the  course of two years, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia  met three more times (1, 2, 3). A trilateral working group has been  created to unblock transport communications. There are mechanisms for  delimiting the border, etc. We are ready to fulfill all of our  obligations enshrined therein," Lavrov summed up, whose words are  quoted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
