Armenian and Iranian foreign ministers discuss unblocking regional communications

YEREVAN, 27 September. /ARKA/. Armenian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Seyed Abbas Araghchi had a meeting in New York on the margins of the UNGA session and discussed ways of unblocking regional economic and transport communications, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said./pp

In this context, Mirzoyan emphasised the unwavering commitment of the Armenian government to open communications in accordance with the principles underlying the Crossroads of Peace project, developed by Armenia./pp

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the high level of friendly relations between the two countries and discussed the possibilities of the best implementation of the potential of cooperation./pp

In the context of establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, Mirzoyan presented the recent discussions on the conclusion of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan./pp

The Armenian Minister stressed that the Armenian authorities are determined to achieve lasting peace in the region and in this context Iran's position expressed at the highest level regarding unconditional respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty is important.-0-/p
