YEREVAN, September 23 /ARKA/. All old elevators in residential buildings in Yerevan must be replaced within 4 years, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said on Monday.br/pp

On Monday, at a meeting in the city hall, the head of the Yerevan Municipality Department of Public Utilities, Arsen Karoyan, reported that 286 new elevators are currently to be replaced, of which 112 have already been installed. Armenian Technical Safety Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued positive conclusions for operation./pp 95 elevators have already been approved for operation, and 17 are in the acceptance stage. In addition, another 120 elevators are in the process of being unloaded from the manufacturing plant for subsequent shipment to Yerevan, informed Karoyan./pp

As Avinyan noted, the program to upgrade 500 elevators is being implemented with community funds allocated thanks to the increase in its own revenues in 2024. According to him, another 2,150 old elevators are awaiting replacement. -0-/p
