ArmInfo. Within the framework of the project to popularize the French language in Armenia, France  will allocate 600,000 euros to improve the quality of teaching French in the Republic and support the needs of students.

On September 16,  at a meeting with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and  Sports (M0ESC) of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan, the Ambassador of France  to Armenia Olivier Decotigny stated this. He emphasized the need to  spread French language teaching not only in Yerevan but also in the  regions of Armenia.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry, a signing ceremony  of documents aimed at promoting and enhancing the teaching of French  in general educational institutions of the country was held between  the MoESC and the French Embassy in Armenia. Under the signed  agreements, the two parties will collaborate to offer ongoing  training for French teachers, beginning in 2025, for a minimum of 10  days per year. A pilot program consisting of 225-hours of training  will be conducted for about 30 teachers of French as a foreign  language, who will then assist in training their fellow colleagues.   The pilot project will be implemented by the French operator France  Education International in cooperation with the National Center for  Education Development and Innovation Foundation. "The goal of the  project is to provide pedagogical training for teachers who teach  French, equipping them with a new methodology.

We also aim to expand the network of in-depth study of the French  language and meet the growing needs of students," the French  Ambassador noted.  In turn, Zhanna Andreasyan mentioned that new  French language teaching programs, textbooks and materials will be  introduced in schools. "Currently, 19 schools are participating in  the French language training program, but this number may grow as  other schools express interest in the new programs," Andreasyan  added. The parties touched upon the development of the French  language ahead of the 10th Francophonie Games in Armenia. In this  regard, the French diplomat emphasized the significance of Armenia's  membership in the International Organization of Francophonie.
